The municipality of Amsterdam and the RAI Convention Center jointly announced today (July 21st) their dedication to securely hosting the iGB Live! and iGB Affiliate Amsterdam events, scheduled from September 28th to October 1st.

The statement, signed by Amsterdam’s Director of Economic and Cultural Affairs, Jan-Willem Flohi, and RAI Amsterdam’s CEO Paul Riemens, declared their intention to “greet guests from all corners of the globe.”

“The City of Amsterdam acknowledges the substantial worth of global gatherings taking place in Amsterdam for both the city and the Netherlands as a whole,” they stated. “We are prepared to collaborate with Clarion Events, utilizing the knowledge and expertise of our city’s business leaders, to re-open Amsterdam’s international marketplace.

“The influence of events in Amsterdam considerably enhances associated sectors, as the connections and transactions produced will contribute to the revival of the economy.”

The announcement was made following research carried out by Fieldlab Events, an organization established by the events industry in partnership with the Dutch government.

An investigation has revealed that gatherings can hold up to 100% of pre-pandemic attendees, provided that proper precautions are taken.

“Based on the findings of the study conducted in partnership with Dutch academic researchers by Fieldlab Events, and the implementation of the EU Digital COVID Certificate, we are certain that we can securely host successful gatherings,” the statement continued. “We anticipate hosting global business gatherings again this autumn and greeting participants from across the globe.”

Naomi Barton, Portfolio Director of iGB Live! and iGB Affiliate Amsterdam, applauded the statement and the research.

“We continue to collaborate closely with our colleagues at RAI and the Municipality of Amsterdam, and we welcome the announcement regarding the role and contribution that Fieldlab Events is playing,” she stated.

“The Fieldlab organization has a remarkable reputation and is backed by numerous influential stakeholders, including scientists and government agencies, including the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate, and the Ministry of Justice and Security.

“RAI is spearheading the planning for the future of in-person gatherings, and we are highly encouraged by the positive statement released in conjunction with the City of Amsterdam.”
