Regarding alcoholic beverages, opinions are more split: 38% want liquor companies gone, while 45% are comfortable with beer and spirits brands as sponsors. The poll, carried out by Resolve Strategic, questioned over 1,600 voters. It underscores a mounting apprehension about the widespread impact of wagering in Australia, where approximately $16 billion was spent on gambling in a single year. Although the sector contributes significantly to government coffers, detractors contend that sports sponsorships enable betting firms to reach youth and make wagering appear commonplace.
