Representatives of the UK’s Betting and Gaming Council (BGC) are expressing relief and preparing to receive travelers again following the government’s move to loosen travel limitations.

The BGC’s leader, Brigid Simmonds, described it as a “significant lift,” especially for London casinos that depend heavily on global guests. Simmonds, who also holds a position on the Tourism Alliance board, emphasized the severe consequences the pandemic has had on the travel and tourism industry. She recognized that betting shops, casinos, and bingo establishments nationwide experienced the effects of the decline, reflecting the difficulties of the broader tourism sector. Currently, with restrictions easing, there’s a feeling of hopefulness that businesses can rebound and contribute to the UK’s financial resurgence.

Simons statements mirrored the Betting and Gaming Council’s prior endorsement of the UK administration’s post-pandemic revitalization strategy. On March 21st, Michael Dugher, the Council’s head, noted their dedication to collaborating with the Exchequer to replenish public funds.

Simon finished by conveying his optimism that by English Tourism Week 2023, the circumstances would be significantly enhanced, with numerous global visitors welcomed back to the UK.
