The upcoming AffiliateCon Sofia, initially planned for May 12-13 in Sofia, Bulgaria, has been deferred to the corresponding dates in 2021 in light of the COVID-19 crisis.

This challenging choice follows Bulgaria’s declaration of a state of emergency last Friday in reaction to the coronavirus, set to continue through April. Numerous businesses within the iGaming and affiliate marketing sectors have also enforced travel restrictions on their staff.

AffiliateCon creator Julian Perry remarked that this year’s gathering was on track to be the largest ever, with multiple brands already pledged and a substantial number of affiliates enrolled. He maintains that AffiliateCon is well-situated to endure this challenge and arise as a pivotal industry event.

Nevertheless, given the World Health Organization’s categorization of the coronavirus outbreak as a pandemic, delaying the event became imperative.

Despite this obstacle, affiliates will still have the opportunity to engage with some of the event’s confirmed speakers virtually. AffiliateCon will conduct an online conference on May 12, 2020, with further specifics to be disclosed shortly.

The AffiliateCon team expresses regret for any disruptions this may entail and is dedicated to making the following year’s event even grander and more impactful.
